Rhaenyra may be on the throne, but the fight for true control continues.

<h2 style="text-align: center;">House of the Dragon Season 3 Episode 6 Recap</h2>

Picking back up where House of the Dragon season 3 episode 5 left off, Criston Cole's army wanders through the woods on their way to rejoin the fight. Before long, they find a Tully camp, seemingly filled with dead soldiers. Cole leans in to inspect the bodies and discover how they died, but the "dead men" jump up and attack. Cole's small army wins the battle, but as he looks up, the Tully and Stark armies approach over the hill. Cole ties Alicent's handkerchief around the hilt of his sword and challenges Oscar Tully and the Stark commander to combat before the ensuing battle. Before the fight takes place, an arrow lands in his chest, followed by several more. Cole falls down, dead.&nbsp;
Back in King's Landing, Alicent and Helaena are discovered in the walls after they tried to make a doomed escape last episode. Daemon meets with the small council and recalls the scene he found at the City Watch headquarters. He wants to take on a bigger fight, but Rhaenyra tells him to handle Ormund's fanatics in the street first.&nbsp;
Hugh arrives outside of Tumbleton to take over Ulf's watch. The latter laments about his life in Rhaenyra's service, and tells Hugh he's not even allowed to go to the tavern anymore. Ulf leaves on his dragon, headed back to King's Landing, and Hugh watches as he leaves.&nbsp;
After learning about her escape attempt, Rhaenyra goes to talk with Alicent, who reveals Helaena's pregnancy. Rhaenyra explains how this has put her in an impossible position, and Alicent fears the worst. Rhaenyra says she will not harm Alicent, Helaena, or the unborn child, but she needs to put them under closer watch, and says that they cannot walk outside anymore. Rhaenyra leaves the room and confides in Mysaria about the situation. Mysaria lies and says she had no knowledge of the baby.&nbsp;
Attempting to restore order to the city, Daemon gathers his Gold Cloaks. The soldiers turn in their cloaks, explaining that they cannot leave their children penniless and fatherless. Daemon, angered, calls them all cowards.&nbsp;
After talking with Rhaenyra, Alyn visits his father and asks for more men. Corlys, still angry with the queen, asks how much more she will demand from the Velaryons. Still, he agrees, and before he leaves, tells Alyn that Tyland Lannister survived the Battle of the Gullet.&nbsp;
In the woods, Tyland and Larys continue their argument about Aegon leaving Westeros. Larys wants to seek refuge abroad, while Tyland argues that he would be better served at Casterly Rock. Aegon interjects, asking Tyland if he thinks he's a terrible man. Tyland stumbles over his words, and ultimately cannot give a straight answer. Aegon determines that they will all sail for Essos.&nbsp;
Out in the Vale, Rhaena hears dragons and leaves her cave, spotting her sister's dragon, Moondancer, in the sky.&nbsp;
At Harrenhal, Alys tells Aemond she is in his debt for defending her against attacking sellswords, and he says they are equal now. He wants to leave, but Alys says he should stay and recover. She suggests that perhaps Vhagar left for a reason: to protect him.&nbsp;
Jeyne Arryn brings Rhaena back to the Eyrie and scolds her for leaving the hiding place that they had agreed upon. Rhaena says she wanted to see her sister, but Jeyne reminds her what will happen to her if Rhaenyra finds her.&nbsp;
Back in King's Landing, Alyn and Baela speak. He asks her to speak to Corlys, and says that he has been distant recently. Baela says her father is the same, and regrets that she cannot help him. They share an intimate moment together and kiss.&nbsp;
Gwayne goes to Tumbleton to take refuge with Ormund and Daeron after leaving Cole behind. Ormund and Gwayne argue about the next course of action, but Gwayne leaves before long to rest and recover.&nbsp; Daeron meets him in the hall and asks how he could leave him alone with Ormund. Gwayne declares he's going back to Oldtown to pick up the pieces after Ormund's messy battles, and Daeron begs him to stay.&nbsp;
Confined to her room, Helaena tells Alicent she knows that they were going to leave Jahaera behind after their escape. She refuses to eat, much to Alicent's dismay.&nbsp;
Aemond attempts to leave Harrenhal on horseback, but a stableboy spots him and recognizes him. Before he can get away, Alys kills him. She leads him back into the ruined castle and shows him five dragon eggs, dusty and petrified with age. He holds one in his hands, but he says he feels cursed and that everything he touches withers away. Alys says he has been alone all his life, and asks him to imagine what life would be like otherwise. She suggests a future where they reside in Harrenhal together, as a woman of the water and a dragonlord, and they kiss.&nbsp;
In the throne room, Rhaenyra hears requests from her subjects, but she is not able to help. They ask for her protection, and she looks down, realizing that she has accidentally cut herself on the throne. She leaves abruptly.&nbsp;
In the streets, Daemon poses as a Gold Cloak. He finds one of Ormund's spies, and after failing to get any information, kills him. Afterwards, he finds Ulf in the street, who is en route to the tavern, and hits him.&nbsp;
At Tumbleton, Hugh attacks a trader outside of the city and disguises himself in order to sneak in. He finds his wife, and she cries, thinking he was dead. She tells him about her brother, and he reveals that he has become a dragonlord, but she doesn't care, telling him she needed him there with her. He tries to get her to come back to King's Landing, but she refuses and returns to her brother's family.&nbsp; While eating, Ormund lectures Daeron and Gwayne about the importance of choosing a good hand, and understanding the thirst for power some men have. Soon, a Baratheon envoy arrives under the pretense of treating with the new king, Daeron. Once they identify Daeron, one man steps forward, but Gwayne cuts him down, realizing that the group is assassins. He defeats the men, and Ormund vomits at the sight of all of the blood and dirt. Later, Daeron trains outside as Ormund and Gwayne watch from the fortress. Ormund commends Gwayne, and tells him he can return to Oldtown.&nbsp;
Back in King's Landing, Alicent asks Rhaenyra to let Helaena go outside. She reveals that she knows where Aemond is after looking at Helaena's prophetic embroidery. She explains her daughter's visions to Rhaenyra, who decides to send Alicent and one swordsman to Harrenhal after him, rather than an army. Alicent leaves and explains what has happened to Helaena.&nbsp; Out in the forest, Corlys addresses his men and commands them back to King's Landing to assist Rhaenyra. He walks further out for a moment of peace and quiet, but he is killed by a group of men.&nbsp;
