The Adults star brings an easy femininity to menswear, proving that the modern heartthrob looks better when the rules get a little blurry.

Every few years, the Internet chooses a new dream man. The qualifications? Increasingly difficult to define.
<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/jack-innanen-actor-interview-big-mistakes-adults-paul-baker-heated-rivalry-tv-shows">Jack Innanen</a>, however, seems to have cracked the code. The 27-year-old Canadian actor has spent the couple weeks promoting Season 2 of <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/owen-thiele-adults-premiere-tribeca-film-festival">Adults</a> in New York City, stepping out in everything from a <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/men/saint-laurent-mens-spring-summer-2027-collection-runway-photos-review-celebrities-connor-storrie-gabbriette-kate-moss">Saint Laurent</a> pinstripe suit to wide-leg jeans, tiny ties, and handbags. Somewhere between the mustache and the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/ferragamo-fall-winter-2026-campaign-photos-models-collection-anok-yai-vittoria-ceretti-willie-cole-shoe-throne">Ferragamo</a> bag, Innanen is making a convincing case for a new kind of leading man.
Of course, Adults fans already know the appeal. Innanen plays Paul Baker, the sweet, occasionally clueless twenty-something whose easygoing nature has made him one of the FX comedy's breakout characters. <a href="https://www.gq.com/story/jack-innanen-adults-interview">Innanen</a> himself has described Paul as “safe, fun, a little bit of a Golden Retriever,” and the Internet has responded accordingly. Last year, he even launched his own campaign to become “White Boy of the Month.”
But Innanen's recent style streak suggests there is more to the fantasy than Paul Baker's mustache.

With stylist Brian Meller, Innanen has been playing with the boundaries of traditional menswear rather than abandoning them altogether. A pinstripe suit still looks like a pinstripe suit; he just wears his with competing stripes and a loosened silhouette. Elsewhere, workwear trousers meet polished accessories, wide-leg denim pairs with a fitted graphic T-shirt, and a baby-blue tie matches a Ferragamo bag. Masculine, feminine, formal, unserious—it all gets to live in the same closet.
Innanen seems to prefer it that way. Earlier this year, he told <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/jack-innanen-actor-interview-big-mistakes-adults-paul-baker-heated-rivalry-tv-shows">L'OFFICIEL</a> that he had entered his “effeminate era,” trading his former Brooklyn Carhartt phase for “the almost-blouse with flowy pants and some dainty jewelry.” He has also spoken about fashion as a way of creating character, whether he is dressing himself or stepping into one onscreen.

That instinct feels particularly fitting for the man behind Paul Baker. Adults has never been especially interested in forcing its characters into neat categories, and Paul increasingly occupies that same space. His sweetness never compromises his masculinity; his relationship with Anton only expands our understanding of him. Innanen's personal style carries a similar ease. Nothing needs to be explained before he puts it on.
Maybe that is the dream-man formula now. The style is still there. So is the mustache. He just brought a handbag.
