Acne Studios&rsquo;s Spring 2019 collection has us feeling some denim blues. For their latest campaign, the label snagged acclaimed photographer Juergen Teller to shoot NBA All-Star and L&rsquo;Officiel USA cover star <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/men/russell-westbrook-cover-story" target="_blank">Russell Westbrook</a> wearing their line of jeans and jean jackets ranging in colors from light blue to indigo to black. The most notable of the bunch: a 1996 fit that recreates the first pair of jeans designed by Acne Studios.

&ldquo;Denim is how Acne Studios started, and it still fascinates me,&rdquo; Jonny Johansson, Creative Director of Acne Studios, said in a statement. &ldquo;I&rsquo;ve always wanted to work with Juergen Teller, and so we asked Juergen to photograph our denim on American icon Russell Westbrook.&rdquo;

Teller photographed Westbrook wearing the looks in his most natural habitat&mdash;the courts of Oklahoma, where he plays for the Oklahoma City Thunder. The basketball star has quickly turned into a style icon, frequently seen front row at Fashion Week, and even has his own streetwear line called Honor The Gift. Westbrook has collaborated with labels like Nike and Barney&rsquo;s New York in the past, so becoming the face of Acne&rsquo;s new collection wasn&rsquo;t even a question for the Los Angeles-born athlete.

&ldquo;I really identify with Acne Studios because their aesthetic is very unique, and I like to be unique too,&rdquo; Westbrook said.

Johansson gave Teller full creative freedom when shooting the campaign, resulting in simple photos of Westbrook both dribbling the ball on a court and posing in a makeshift photo studio in his hotel bedroom, dressed in the various denim jacket-and-pants pairs, with some showing him shirtless, donning nothing but the jeans.

&ldquo;I was very excited to shoot for Acne Studios,&rdquo; Teller said. &ldquo;They seem so free and fun and experimental, and you can feel the sense of enthusiasm and excitement that they have. They were completely behind us, and when I have that trust I can open myself and make my best work,&rdquo; says Juergen Teller.

The campaign gets the message across&mdash;Acne&rsquo;s latest line is the American blue jean dream.
