You're Invited: Saint Laurent Men's Spring 2019

The French fashion house says bonjour to the Big Apple.

Anthony Vaccarello will show his latest collection for Saint Laurent in New York City today, June 6. This isn't the first time the French fashion house chooses to present a collection in the United States versus Paris. For Spring 2016, Vaccarello's predecessor Hedi Slimane presented his menswear collection at The Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. No word yet on the défilé's exact location, but a teaser video showing city lights reflected against water could hint at any of the city's many rivers.

The decision should also come as no surprise as YSL has a rich history in the city that never sleeps. Back in 1977, the House held a launch party for the controversial fragrance Opium on a boat borrowed from the South Street Seaport Museum. Later in 1983, Yves Saint Laurent would go down in history as the only living designer to have been honored by the Metropolitan Museum's Costume Institute, until Rei Kawakubo in 2017.
