Season 109 of <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/men/pitti-uomo-109-florence-dates-guest-designers-exhibitions-guide" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Pitti Uomo</a> has finally arrived. From June 13-16, folks will gather at Fortezza da Basso—a historic 16th-century fortress—in Florence, Italy, across more than 60,000 square meters, showcasing approximately 800 brands from around the world.
This year, the trade show is divided into four sections highlighting fashion from a wide range of categories, including Fantastic Classic (tailoring and formalwear), Futuro Maschile (contemporary menswear), Dynamic Attitude (outerwear), and Superstyling (avant-garde and experimental new labels). However, the most interesting part of it all? The “Pitti Peacocks”, better known as the decked-out attendees who dress to the nines in tandem with the show’s emphasis on encouraged <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/men/pitti-uomo-99-sustainable-style-2-menswear" target="_blank" rel="noopener">maximalism</a>.

As mentioned, Pitti Uomo is a men’s fashion and lifestyle trade show. However, it originally started as an offshoot of the womenswear space in the 1950s, from Tuscan aristocrat Giovanni Battista Giorgini, in an attempt to challenge Paris’ dominance in fashion. Furthermore, the showcase was held at the Sala Bianca until it permanently relocated in 1982. That being said, Pitti Uomo has since grown in prestige as a space for emerging creatives to debut their work and to appreciate others.

Pitti Uomo started in 1972. For the past 30 years, notable designers like Giorgio Armani (1979), Gianni Versace (1997), Virgil Abloh (2017), and others have made their mark through their own showcases. Since the start, its mission has remained the same: to draw buyers and creatives to Florence and appreciate worldwide talent.

Today, Pitti Uomo has become a haven for design-centric minds. This year, three new guest designers will present their Fall/Winter 2026-2027 collections. Including Soshiotuski, a Japanese label by Soshi Otuski, Hed Mayner, and Shinyakozuka by Shinya Kozuka. Furthermore, over 15,000 folks are expected to attend (with over 11,000 registered as buyers). At the end of the day, guests are encouraged to explore the fairgrounds, meet other like-minded fashion fans, and expand their horizons through a fashion lens.
