A year after Netflix's wildly popular documentary debuted, see what other fan-favorite contestants are doing these days.&nbsp;

If one thing's for certain, we know what <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/katseye-kpop-facts" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Katseye</a> is up to. The global girl group is everywhere these days, from playing jam-packed <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/lady-gaga-disco-bra-bikini-bottoms-lollapalooza-2007" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lollapalooza</a> shows to modeling in ultra-viral Gap campaigns.&nbsp;
Katseye, who debuted last summer with singles "Debut" and "Touch", is made up of members Lara Raj, Daniela Avanzini, Sophia Laforteza, Manon Bannerman, Yoonchae Jeung, and Megan Skiendiel. Ahead of the group's formation, all six members went through a months-long audition, dubbed Dream Academy, along with dozens of other girls, in which they competed for a coveted spot in Hybe and Geffen's girl group. Netflix followed this training process, resulting in the breakout documentary series, Popstar Academy: Katseye.&nbsp;
Though a majority of the contestants were not selected for the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/music/girl-groups-throughout-history-tlc-destinys-child" target="_blank" rel="noopener">girl group</a> in the end, many of them walked away from the experience with invaluable training in dance and singing&mdash;plus, considerable followings on social media. In the time since the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/love-island-season-7-reunion-date-air-time-where-to-watch" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reality show</a>-style documentary aired, some have even gone on to produce their own music or contribute to the industry in other ways.&nbsp;

After Mei Terada was eliminated from Dream Academy, she debuted as a member of<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/music/blackpink-deadline-tour-setlist-tour-dates" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> K-pop girl group</a> Say My Name in late 2024.&nbsp;

Though Ad&eacute;la was a vocal powerhouse and a classically trained ballet dancer, she was among the first to be eliminated following the initial training stages. Though fans were sad to see the pink-haired singer go, she formed strong friendships with other trainees, and has since released music of her own, including "Machine Girl," which was co-produced by <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/13-interesting-facts-grimes-elon-musk-baby" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Grimes</a>. Ad&eacute;la's first album, The Provacateur, was released through Capitol Records and Polydor Records in August 2025.&nbsp;

Dream Academy contestants: Emily Kelavos

Texas-born dancer, Emily Kelavos, was beloved among viewers for her bubbly energy, and since her elimination from the show, she's continued to bring that same passion to new projects. Per her social media, Kelavos is continuing to hone her dance skills, and even appeared onstage at Coachella as a supporting dancer for the group XG.&nbsp;
On Aug. 25, 2025, Geffen <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DNy7GcjZJ1a/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced on Instagram</a> that Kelavos is the first member debuting as part of the label's newest group.&nbsp;

Dream Academy contestants: Iliya Fedartsova

After drawing in a following of almost 3 million on TikTok with her vocal skills, Iliya is continuing her career in music, as highlighted by her most recent single, "Outside," released earlier in 2025.&nbsp;

Dream Academy contestants: Nayoung Lee

On&nbsp;Popstar Academy: Katseye, contestant Nayoung Lee was renowned for her singing abilities and unique star quality. Ultimately, while producers deemed her incredibly talented, they decided she may be a better fit as a solo act, leading to her elimination. Since the documentary, the singer joined another survival-style audition show in South Korea, titled&nbsp;Girls on Fire. Nayoung placed first in the competition, earning her a spot in the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/everything-you-need-to-know-about-kpop-group-newjeans-danielle-hanni" target="_blank" rel="noopener">K-pop girl group</a>, but the debut was cancelled by the label. Since then, it seems Nayoung has been taking a much-needed vacation, with recent photos shared from a summer getaway on Jeju Island.&nbsp;

Dream Academy contestants: Samara Siqueira

Samara Siqueira, the first runner-up to Katseye, has continued honing her singing and dance skills since her time on the show. The <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/beauty/bruna-marquezine-actor-model-beauty-routine-interview" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Brazilian</a> popstar in the making has also been involved in several modeling projects.&nbsp;
