For an epic finale, the last night of Jay-Z's NYC residency featured a surprise appearance from Rihanna, breaking her three-year concert hiatus.&nbsp;

Rihanna has finally made her concert comeback! The Grammy Award-winning artist delighted fans with a rare surprise performance yesterday at the final night of Jay-Z’s historic three-day Yankee Stadium residency concert. Rihanna joined the rapper on the 2009 single “Run This Town” and went solo for her 2015 hit, “Bitch Better Have My Money.”
On stage, Rihanna was decked out in a custom Saint Laurent leather ensemble by Anthony Vaccarello, complete with capri pants and a brown off-the-shoulder top, lined with faux fur. She accessorized the outfit with three belts, gold chains, and chic black sunglasses; for shoes, she rocked a pair of Vendome slingback pumps.&nbsp;
Rihanna fans have long theorized about the pop star's return to the stage, especially since it's been a decade since her last tour with the album Anti in 2016. Rihanna has made a few select appearances, most notably in 2023 at the Apple Music Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show and at the 95th Academy Awards, where she performed "Lift Me Up." The Fenty Beauty founder also gave a private concert in March 2024 for the Ambani wedding.&nbsp;
At Yankee Stadium, Rihanna acknowledged her time away from music, joking to the sold-out crowd, “Y’all know I’m rusty, right?” But she didn't shy away from revealing how much she missed performing. "Oh my God, I missed this s--- y’all!” Rihanna said to the roaring audience, "New York, I love you guys."&nbsp;
Jay-Z's 30th anniversary concert ran from July 10 to 12 at Yankee Stadium in New York City, paying homage to his debut album, Reasonable Doubt (1996), and his sixth studio album, Blueprint (2001). The final show of his Yankee Stadium residency, "Extra Innings," featured a setlist of almost 50 songs from all the eras of Jay-Z's discography.&nbsp;
With a delayed start time due to crowd surge issues, the "Extra Innings" concert didn't start until shortly after midnight and ended in the early hours of the morning. The wait may have been long, but fans found it well worth the wait, as Jay-Z brought out a star-studded roster of guest artists, including Beyoncé, Rihanna, Usher, Jermaine Dupri, Pharrell Williams, Clipse, Teyana Taylor, Swizz Beatz, Jeezy, Fat Joe, Jadakiss, and The-Dream.

Rihanna has also teased an upcoming ninth album recently. On Instagram, Rihanna posted a day-in-the-life video on Feb. 26, showing her at a recording studio session in New York City. In an interview with <a href="https://www.harpersbazaar.com/celebrity/latest/a63831240/rihanna-upcoming-album-new-music-details-interview/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Harper's Bazaar</a>&nbsp;last year, Rihanna said, "I think music is my freedom. I just came to that realization. I just cracked the code on what I really want to do for my next body of work. I am actually feeling really good about this.”
Longtime listeners are eagerly awaiting the day when new music finally drops, but at the very least, now fans have a recent performance to hit repeat on.&nbsp;
