On the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/victorias-secret-fashion-show-2025-models-performances-gigi-hadid-angel-reese-madison-beer-alex-consani" target="_blank" rel="noopener">2025 Victoria's Secret runway</a>, fans across the world watched Barbie Ferreira strut across the stage, marking her debut for the lingerie label's massively popular annual event&mdash;plus, her first catwalk appearance in over ten years, and her biggest one to date.&nbsp;&nbsp;

As her time on&nbsp;Euphoria as Kat Hernandez reminds us, Ferreira is nothing short of a global superstar. But it wasn't casting calls for all the latest and greatest films that kickstarted her career&mdash;it was a hard-earned campaign for American Apparel.
Though today, the label looks radically different than it once did&mdash;after a series of controversies and investigations&mdash;in the 2010s, it was&nbsp;the&nbsp;destination for aesthetically aspiring teens on Tumblr and the minimalist-inclined alike. A 16-year-old Ferreira, who found the casting online and submitted photos, made waves online after she was cast in a campaign for plus size models.&nbsp;
