<p>The website/app was launched back in 2017 with the aim of providing writers a platform to share and monetize their content via subscription services. In recent years, it's exploded in popularity amongst writers, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/meghan-markle-female-founder-podcast-details-listen" target="_blank" rel="noopener">podcasters</a>, and artists looking to build a base of subscribers, simply put their thoughts into the world, or any goal in between.&nbsp;</p>
<p>For many high-profile posters, the draw to the app is likely its user base. Over on Substack, <em>most&nbsp;</em>people are simply more relaxed&mdash;unlike some of the overwhelmingly gloomy comment sections that <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/scandinavian-influencers-to-follow-on-tiktok-for-copenhagen-fashion-week" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TikTok</a>, Instagram, and Twitter are often prone to. Users download the app with intent, follow or subscribe to creators they're genuinely interested in, and enjoy the content&mdash;it's that simple. So in the case of celebrities, the allure is understandable&mdash;especially for those who have experienced periods of negativity or hatred from the masses.&nbsp;</p>
<p>After beloved music sensation <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/rosalia-dating-history-jeremy-allen-white-rauw-alejandro" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rosal&iacute;a</a> shared her first cryptic Substack post, fans went wild, wondering if the simple lines of text could be new song lyrics, a hint at a written project to come, or something else entirely. Over on other social media sites, some users were questioning when the platform became overrun by high-profile figures, while others were simply glad to see a new side to some of their favorite <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/celebrities-at-2025-us-open-tennis-stars" target="_blank" rel="noopener">celebrities</a>. No matter which camp you fall into, there's no harm in uncovering a little bit more pop culture knowledge.</p>

Cohen, the vibes are a little bit more eclectic. Reading lists, mirror selfies, the occasional brief essay, on-set BTS photos, and snaps of Dunham's pet pigs litter the feed&mdash;in the best way possible, to clarify. Compared to other pared-back celebrity presences on Substack, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/role-model-natalie-portman-new-movie-good-sex-lena-dunham-cast-release-date" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dunham</a> &amp; co.'s page feels raw and authentic in a way that fans can't seem to get enough of.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Indie darling Neko Case takes Internet users into the great outdoors on her <a href="https://nekocase.substack.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">page</a>. The singer, songwriter, and artist shares weekly essays and journal entries with topics ranging from seasonal weather shifts to spider sightings to tour and music announcements. All in all, the posts are entertaining, charming, and full of that signature Neko wit.&nbsp;</p>
