<p>Austin City Limits. Governors Ball. Outside Lands. Not only do these major yet iconic music festivals share the message of highlighting the arts in various ways, but they have also fostered major moments in pop culture history.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Whether it be Lizzo joining Harry Styles during his headlining performance at Coachella in 2022 or Fuerza Regida bringing out Los Gemelos de Sinaloa, Clave Especial, and Chino Pacas to close out this year's Sueños festival in Chicago's Grant Park, the art of bringing out collaborators, colleagues, and friends to the stage has never been more in style than now.</p>
<p>As Lorde headlined Lollapalooza's opening night on Thursday, she surprised the crowd by bringing out none other than Charli xcx to perform "Girl, so confusing." Throughout the four-day festival, rising acts such as Slayyyter, Zara Larsson, and Audrey Hobert will join headliners like Charli xcx, Tate McRae, and Olivia Dean, easily creating one-of-a-kind moments that attendees and social media will lose their minds over.</p>

<h2>Muse and U2's The Edge, 2010 Glastonbury</h2>

<p>When Michael Eavis hosted the first edition of what would become the Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts, the English farmer would be surprised to see how the event became a global phenomenon. For its 2010 edition, Gorillaz, Muse, and Stevie Wonder headlined the five-day festival. Although U2 was originally announced as headliners and had to withdraw due to Bono's back surgery, their presence was still felt. During their Saturday performance, Muse was joined by The Edge for a cover of "Where the Streets Have No Name," a moment that lives on in today's world of defining music moments.</p>

<h2>Beyoncé and Destiny's Child, 2018 Coachella</h2>

<p>Known as one of the more recognizable fests, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has been making waves since 1999 with incredible talent. Although she was supposed to headline in 2017, Beyoncé made herself known as a powerful artist in the industry. Alongside the Weeknd and Eminem, the global superstar became the first African-American woman to headline Coachella. While honoring the culture of historically Black colleges and universities during her set, she brought out Solange Knowles and Destiny Child's members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. In other words, this historic performance continues to make waves in the conversation of festival moments of recent memory.</p>

<h2>DJ Snake, Selena Gomez, Cardi B, and Ozuna, 2019 Coachella</h2>

<p>In 2019, Coachella was celebrating its 20th anniversary, which warranted a grand lineup of artists. Ariana Grande, Tame Impala, and Childish Gambino headlined the two-weekend event, while then-rising talents like BLACKPINK, Bad Bunny, and Playboi Carti also performed across the festival's stages. As DJ Snake took the stage on Friday night, he played the well-loved Spanish hit "Te Bote." Suddenly, Ozuna appeared on stage to kick off "Taki Taki" before Cardi B and Selena Gomez joined the talents to hype up the crowd. After taking a group selfie and shouting out the Latinos in the crowd, the night officially closed.</p>

<h2>Diplo, Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus, 2019 Stagecoach</h2>

<p>Picture this: Two cowboys walk into an American DJ's set during Stagecoach in 2018. Well, you really don't have to, as this moment actually became reality. Hosted at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, the country music festival is no stranger to surprise appearances during live sets. Originally known as the sister event to Coachella, Stagecoach kicked off in 2007 and has continued to expand ever since. During the end of his2019 performance, Diplo was joined by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus to jam out to their record-breaking track "Old Town Road." Needless to say, the country energy was at an all-time high.</p>

<h2>Harry Styles and Shania Twain, 2022 Coachella</h2>

<p>What was deemed a difficult few months for everyone, the pandemic was officially over, and events like Coachella were back in full swing. Headliners for the 2022 festival were Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, and Swedish House Mafia, alongside the Weeknd (Kanye West was an original headliner until he withdrew two weeks before the festival). While sporting a colorful jumpsuit, Styles performed fan-favorites like "Watermelon Sugar" and "Sign of the Times" before bringing out the country icon on the stage. The sparkly duo performed "Man! I Feel Like A Woman" and "You're Still the One" for a packed crowd, which solidified the musicians' friendship that has carried over to Styles' six-night stint at Wembley Stadium.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>Olivia Rodrigo and Lily Allen, 2022 Glastonbury</h2>

<p>Just a few months after the iconic surprise, another one took place at Glastonbury. After gaining much success with her debut album "Sour," Olivia Rodrigo made her grand entrance at the 2022 festival. Rodrigo, 19 at the time, was preparing to wrap up her set before English singer-songwriter Lily Allen joined her to call out members of the United States Supreme Court for their decision to overturn the Roe v. Wade case. After naming each justice, the duo performed Allen's 2008 hit "Fuck You," which had much support from the crowd and viewers at home. This moment is still one of the most political in music festival history.</p>

<h2>Lana Del Rey and Billie Eilish, 2024 Coachella</h2>

<p>Returning to the desert, Coachella's 2024 edition continued to carry the torch of pop culture-making moments. With the help of headliners Lana Del Rey, Tyler, the Creator, and Doja Cat alongside a reunion of No Doubt, it seemed that this edition had used the power of nostalgia in its lineup. From entering on a motorcycle to having a mystical set full of greenery, the singer's glamorous, melancholy, and unapologetically Americana spirit was in full force. However, it wasn't until Billie Eilish joined the artist to perform a duet of "Ocean Eyes" and "Video Games," both cult-classic tracks for each artist. Bridging their incredible vocals, this moment was the talk of the town for weeks on end.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>Charli xcx and Lorde, 2025 Coachella</h2>

<p>If you haven't realized it yet, Coachella is the place to make a bold yet memorable choice on the stage. Yes, headliners Lady Gaga, Post Malone, Green Day, and Travis Scott had remarkable sets for both weekends in 2025. However, if there was one moment that massively contributed to an artist's already huge success, it'd definitely be when Charli xcx brought out Lorde during her Weekend One set. When the New Zealand singer brought out the British pop star to sing and rock to "Girl, so confusing," it shifted culture in a way that hasn't been replaced since. Actually, it happened on the first night of this year's Lollapalooza.</p>

<h2>Peso Pluma and El Alfa, 2025 Sueños</h2>

<p>Latino music lovers: Our time has finally arrived. Founded in 2022, Sueños takes place in Chicago's Grant Park (the same place as Lollapalooza) and focuses on reggaeton, Latin trap, and other Latino talent. For its 2025 edition, headliners included Shakira and Don Omar, with performances from Grupo Frontera, Arcangel, and Jhayco. When Peso Pluma took the stage for his special performance on Saturday, many knew he would bring his high-energy to the stage and bring in some surprises. In fact, he did, with the help of El Alfa, Oscar Maydon, Tito Double P, and Jasiel Nuñez. Peso Pluma and El Alfa performed their 2023 song "PLEBADA," which easily made the crowd dance, move, and jump to the beat.</p>

<h2>Sabrina Carpenter and Madonna, 2026 Coachella</h2>

<p>To round out the list, this year's edition of Coachella really kicked off the modern wave of collaboration on a music festival stage. First-timers like Katseye, Joost Klein, and Bini joined greats like Sabrina Carpenter, Karol G, Anyma, and Sabrina Carpenter throughout the festival. While Carpenter took on the Main stage for Weekend Two, she did something that no one expected at all. After 20 years of not being at Coachella, Madonna made her grand return to the festival and joined the "Espresso" singer to perform "Vogue," "Like A Prayer," and new track "Bring Your Love." Let's just say, having two pop icons come together on one stage to maximize their potential had everyone on social media speechless, but grateful.</p>
