<p>The mark left on soccer by players such as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have undeniably set a precedent for young, aspiring players. Needless to say, their impact has undoubtedly influenced players that are up and coming in clubs such as Paris St. Germain and Lan&uacute;s. As popular leagues begin to heat up their engines, there are several young players hungry to meet or exceed the expectations left by their predecessors.&nbsp;</p>

<h2 style="text-align: center;">2025 Soccer Players to Watch: Thom&aacute;s de Martis</h2>

<p>Born in Mar de Plata, otherwise known as "the happy city", Thom&aacute;s de Martis is all about goals. He has 11 goals in 13 games for the Under-17 Argentina side at the time of writing. For his affinity for scoring goals, he has been named "the new Lautauro Mart&iacute;nez" and he dreams of success at the U-17 World Cup in Qatar in November, where the senior team gained national glory just three years ago. He is currently training with Mauricio Pellegino and has made his top-flight debut. The Lan&uacute;s president told The Guardian:&nbsp;<span>&ldquo;Thom&aacute;s is the most exciting prospect in Argentinian football, he is already a &lsquo;killer&rsquo; in front of goal.&rdquo;</span></p>

<h2 style="text-align: center;">2025 Soccer Players to Watch: Haine Eames</h2>

<p>After making his debut off the bench in the opening round of the 2024-25 A-League, Haine Eames went on to make history as the youngest player, starter, goalscorer, and captain in Mariner's history. He also became the youngest captain in Asian Champions League's history after donning the armband in the final 20 minutes of a loss to Kawasaki Frontale. Last year, Eames signed a three-year scholarship and has represented Australia in the Under-17 level, and has played for soccer coach Trevor Morgan at the 2025 UEFA Friendship Cup.&nbsp;</p>

<h2 style="text-align: center;">2025 Soccer Players to Watch: Jorthy Mokio</h2>

<p>Not only is Jorthy Mioko one of Ajax's most talented players, he is also the most versatile. He started out as a playmaker for Gent, then made his first division debut as a center-back, just one month after his sixteenth birthday. At that point, Barcelona was showing heavy interest in signing him, but so were Manchester City, Juventus, Bayern Munich, and Borussia Dortmund. Ajax moved him to Amsterdam in 2024 where he made his debut as a left-back, making him Ajax's second youngest starter in Eredivisie after Clarence Seedorf. After an injury in Jordan Henderson, he started playing mid-field at Union Saint-Gilloise in the Europa League and netted a beautiful goal from the distance, making him the third youngest scorer in the competition. Shortly after his seventeenth birthday, he made his debut in Belgium. He is a tireless runner and talented tackler with great vision and superb quality of shot. While he is currently seen as a central-fielder for Ajax, he could yet develop in other positions later on.&nbsp;</p>

<h2 style="text-align: center;">2025 Soccer Players to Watch: Nathan de Cat</h2>

<p>Nathan de Cat made his top division debut for Anderlecht in April and scored in May, making him an integral part of the team faster than anyone expected. He was one of the brightest stars at the 2025 European Under-17 Championship where Belgium reached the semi-finals, and the Anderlecht coach Besnik Hasi, placed him in the starting line-up on the opening day of the 2025-26 season. He is a fighter who loves to dribble and is particularly fond of the Zidane turn.&nbsp;</p>

<h2 style="text-align: center;">2025 Soccer Players to Watch: Ibrahim Mbaye</h2>

<p>The son of a former French kickboxing champion, Ibrahim Mbaye became the youngest player to play for Paris St Germain last year at the age of sixteen, and it has only been uphill since then. Having scored his first goal in March and become a regular off the bench, he made headlines in September when he delayed travelling to Marseille for a Ligue 1 match so he could complete his baccalaureate exams. <span>&ldquo;It taught him discipline, tenacity and fighting spirit,&rdquo; Abdoulaye Mbaye told The Guardian of his son&rsquo;s early experience in kickboxing, which he combined with playing football for local sides Guyancourt and FC Versailles before joining PSG&rsquo;s academy when he was 10. &ldquo;He&rsquo;s always been small among bigger people. It really helped to fight to get where he is.&rdquo;</span></p>

<h2 style="text-align: center;">2025 Soccer Players to Watch: Djylian N'guessan</h2>

<p>Djylian N'Guessan has been described by Lionel Rouxel as a player who moves quite well between the lines, who is on the way to becoming a goalscorer. N'Guessan joined Les Verts when he was seven and- under the watchful eye of his father, former Leicester and Millwall forward Dany N'Guessan- he became Saint-&Eacute;tienne's second-youngest player when he made his debut in 2025.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
