The Korean artist's striking piece was selected from 30 finalists.&nbsp;

This year, Jongjin Park has claimed the Loewe Craft Prize. The Korean artist&mdash;a ceramicist and professor in Seoul&mdash;presented a sculpture made of porcelain, paper, stain, and glaze that explores the tension between control and collapse.&nbsp;
Using thousands of layers of paper coated in porcelain slip, he created a large, boxy sculpture. When he put it in the kiln and burned the paper away, the structure and silhouette of the piece were altered, illustrating a powerful, permanent transformation.&nbsp;

Across each of the shortlisted works, we encountered an extraordinary sense of commitment,&nbsp;creativity, and innovation. Together, they stand as a powerful testament to the enduring&nbsp;possibilities of making,"&nbsp;Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, creative directors of Loewe, said in a statement.&nbsp;
In addition to Park, the Loewe Foundation also recognized two other special works, the tapestry created by the Baba Tree Master Weavers (Mary Anaba, Charity Aveamah Atuah, Christiana&nbsp;Anaba Akolpoka, Asakiloro Aduko, Mary Ayinbogra, Teni Ayine, Subolo Ayine,&nbsp;and Punka Joe) and &Aacute;lvaro Catal&aacute;n de Oc&oacute;n, and the jewelry presented by Graziano Visintin.&nbsp;
The 30 shortlisted works submitted to the 2026 Loewe Craft Prize will be on exhibition at the National Gallery Singapore until June 14, 2026.&nbsp;
