The house tapped Argentinian designer and artist Conie Vallese to conceieve a showcase made up of 10 unique, masterfully crafted pieces.&nbsp;

Celebrating the Italian label's monumental centennial, Fendi reimagines elements of its history through the Fonderia Fendi exhibition, created for display at Design Miami 2025. The concept of the showcase revolves around feminine strength&mdash;looking towards the five Fendi sisters, Paola, Anna, Franca, Carla, and Alda, who shaped the house into what it is today, as a source of powerful inspiration&mdash;and Fendi's innovative excellence in design and craft. For the occasion, the label looked toward renowned designer Conie Vallese to bring the momentous display to life.&nbsp;
At the Fonderia Fendi exhibition at Design Miami, the pieces are arranged in the intimate, yet lively "salotto" style, creating a living room-like experience that truly immerses viewers in the concept of the collection as the imagined core of Fendi's identity.&nbsp;

"Fendi&rsquo;s heritage is deeply rooted in craft and there is also an unmistakable feminine sensitivity that runs through the house&rsquo;s history," Vallese tells L'OFFICIEL. "That idea of femininity, delicate in gesture but intentional, really influenced the way I approached the project. I think the core element that stayed with me was this balance,&nbsp; honoring different materials and Italian artisanship, while letting the pieces feel intimate."&nbsp;
The pieces in the collection were exquisitely crafted from bronze, ceramic, glass, carpet, and leather in some of Italy's most prestigious and iconic centers of design&mdash;Fendi's legendary leather workshops, Milanese bronze foundry Fonderia Battaglia, ceramic studio Officine Saffi Lab, the carpet weavers CC-Tapis, and Venetian glass studio Barovier &amp; Toso, making the exhibition a true celebration of Fendi's own legacy and Italian artistry.&nbsp;

Beyond the five Fendi sisters, Vallese also looked to the two geographic locations, rich in their own respective cultures and histories, that helped shape the collection&mdash;Rome and Miami.&nbsp;&nbsp;
<div role="presentation">"Rome brings this sense of weight, lineage, a city where every surface carries history.&nbsp; I wanted the pieces to feel anchored and to carry this confident beauty that defines Fendi&rsquo;s Roman identity," Vallese explains. "Miami instead influenced the atmosphere. Sunshine! Its light, its openness, make me think of a dreamlike palette and in a way soften the forms, to let in air and color.&nbsp; The &lsquo;sorbetto yellow&rsquo; and &lsquo;anice blue&rsquo; tones that made all the objects feel, in my opinion, very joyful and approachable."&nbsp;</div>
<div role="presentation">Vallese's dreamy color palette was complemented by details like graceful lily motifs, FF monograms, and intricate Fendi-signature Selleria stitching, weaving the house's heritage throughout each element of the exhibition.&nbsp;</div>

In addition to the Fonderia Fendi showcase, Vallese also reconceived Fendi's iconic Peekaboo bag&mdash;originally created by Silvia Venturini Fendi, daughter of Anna Fendi, in 2008&mdash;in the visual style of the exhibition. The model is reversible, boasting soft yellow and blue tones and sculptural lily detailing, and is available in a limited-edition drop of 5 bags at the Fendi boutique in the Miami Design District.&nbsp;
