With the new creative director&rsquo;s debut, the legendary Italian label took a bold step into a new era this season.

Versace is known for many things&mdash;among them, the bondage dress, the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/gianni-versace-fashion-signatures-designer-history-medusa-bondage" target="_blank" rel="noopener">medusa logo</a>, the baroque print, safety pin ornamentation, and shimmery metallic detailing&mdash;but chief among them is the brand&rsquo;s tendency towards bold, sensual styles. Though this season may mark a step into unknown territory, the spirit of the House of Versace is still very much present&mdash;<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/who-is-dario-vitale-versace-creative-director-fun-facts" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dario Vitale</a> has already made sure of that.
Recently, the fashion world has been utterly preoccupied with styles of the past. It seems these days that a dip into decades-old archives drives every other red carpet or runway show. To be sure, there are plenty of recent revivals that have captured our eyes and hearts as well, but Vitale&rsquo;s take on the time-traveling trend didn&rsquo;t just resurrect styles of the past&mdash;it reinvented, redefined, and rejuvenated them. Vintage-inspired silhouettes, detailing, and accessories were in plain view. After all, the core identity of Versace and its conception of the modern woman still proves to be powerfully embedded in pop culture and the fashion world alike, so the only place for the label to go is forward&mdash;and truly, what better way to mark that step than with a renewed retrospective on how contemporary fashion, as Versace sees it, came to be?&nbsp;
On the runway, the Spring/Summer 2026 line was an entralling parade of color, texture, pattern, and silhouette&mdash;a true feast for the senses.&nbsp;
In bold pop art-inspired prints, plenty of gemstones, and teeny-tiny hemlines, the Versace spirit was alive. Striped, high-waisted pants, polo collars, and layered looks added to the vintage '80s-ish vibes at play within the collection, while sculptural dresses and slouchy, yet sophisticated handbags brought a contemporary flair forth.&nbsp;
Embroidered details on elbow-length gloves and sinuous bra tops offered a subtle, kaleidoscopic shimmer, while glitter-woven off-the-shoulder tops and dazzling rhinestone-inlaid dresses shone brightly, catching the light as models strode down the opulent living room-inspired runway.
Meanwhile, expertly fitted knitwear, ultra-short tailored shorts, smooth loafers, and breezy knee-length skirts offered a sensual take on the evergreen business casual craze&mdash;a surprise only to those who didn't bear witness to <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/designer-debuts-at-venice-film-festival-versace-dior-bottega-veneta-chanel" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Vitale's soft-launch at Venice Film Festival</a> earlier this summer, seen on the likes of both Julia Roberts and Amanda Seyfried.&nbsp;
As a whole, the label's Spring/Summer 2026 collection was a celebration of human sensuality, fashion as an art form, and oft-neglected, yet stunningly reinvented styles of the past, and proved to be a bold first step into Versace's newest era, heralded by some of its most iconic elements of design.&nbsp;
