Chanel Visits Ancient Egypt by Way of New York City

Chanel's 2018-2019 Paris-New York Métiers d'Art collection, inspired by the golden details, comes from the ancient Egyptian era.

Chanel's aesthetics, charm, and timelessness, were perhaps most clearly shown in the 2018-2019 Paris-New York Métiers d'Art collection, which was introduced at the Metropolitan Museum yesterday evening. Karl Lagerfeld, who opens the door to travel in each fashion show, took us to the Ancient Egyptian period, while his evocative designs were a synthesis of the past and the present. In accordance with the spirit of his collection, the Dendur Temple, on exhibition in the Metropolitan Museum, perfectly reflected the period inspired by the décor. Pharrell Williams and Kaia Gerber were the stars of the night as models, while Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, and Lily-Rose Depp were among the stars in the front row.
