JW Anderson&rsquo;s show at the Seymour Leisure Centre in London embodies the woman next door but with a twist. His collection channels the noisy and nosy neighbor, or, in other words, the neighborhood ladies who can&rsquo;t seem to satiate their thirst for gossip.
Jonathan Anderson, who tended to turn unconventional aesthetics into works of art, presented a collection of bulky <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/shopping/sustainable-knitwear-fashion-shopping-cashmere-wool" target="_blank" rel="noopener">knits</a>, oversized outerwear, and loosely fit <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/sustainable-sleepwear-brands-pajamas-loungewear" target="_blank" rel="noopener">loungewear</a>. The collection embraced pragmatic garments that are hidden and "uncool.&rdquo;
Anderson was particularly inspired by Last of the Summer Wine, a British TV comedy surrounding the antics and misadventures of retirees who reside in a Yorkshire village. This is seen in the<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/coastal-grandma-aesthetic-trend" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> grandmacore</a> aesthetics in the looks and hairdos presented on the runway. The TV series is the opposite of what English youths consider cosmopolitan and trendy, yet that is precisely the point. Anderson points to young people&rsquo;s fascination with the past. Dated clothing from decades ago can become tomorrow's newest trend. An old song rediscovered through social media can become a chart-topper.
Anderson recognizes a world where the old can be embraced as something new. Perhaps cozy <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/shopping/best-shearling-coats-shop" target="_blank" rel="noopener">shearling</a> boots paired with a chunky knit dress, a la the opening look, will be the emerging trend among youngsters.
