From archival pieces to rockstar glamour, it's been quite the year for the St. Louis artist.

Ever since Slayyyter stepped foot onto the Mojave Stage at Coachella back in April, the world has finally caught up to the artist's distinct sound, aesthetic, and look. But the Kirkwood, Missouri native isn't a "new artist on the scene"; she's actually been in the industry for quite some time.
Look, if you are chronically online like some people (me) are, then you will recognize tracks like "Gimme More (remix)," "Mine," and "Daddy AF" that were huge with users at the time. Even today, viral hits like "Purrr," "James Dean," and "BEAT UP CHANEL$" allowed fans to explore the messy yet unapologetic world of Slayyyter.
When WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA dropped back in March, the project was considered to be the artist's last album. But, as we witnessed over the past few months, people were on board for the raw, iPod-inspired endeavor. From a killer set at Coachella and Governor's Ball to jamming it out with over 50,000 concertgoers at Lollapalooza, Slayyyter has continued to showcase her incredible stage presence, stellar vocals, and distinct DIY style with a Midwestern flair.

As Slayyyter prepared to embark on one of the biggest moments of her career thus far, she decided to give it her all in the fashion department. By launching WGIA's brother album, WOR$T MAN IN AMERICA, with the track "brand new chanel$" on July 31, the dance-pop anthem was paired with ensembles that are out of posters plastered across a teenager's bedroom.
Throughout the almost four-minute music video, Slayyyter is seen in a high school football stadium, desert compound, and inside a trailer. Although an Alexander McQueen utility jacket from Spring/Summer 2026 is a standout piece, a vintage 1971 Lido de Paris Showgirl Costume stole the show.
When Slayyyter kneels inside the trailer, a green feather headpiece with black and silver detailing, a sparkly choker, a matching bedazzled bra and underwear featuring black cateye-like detailing, and an extravagant green feather bustle brought showgirl glamour to a setting often thought of as the opposite. To add to the Les Bluebell girl look from Via Aniene Vintage, colorful confetti sprinkled as the artist posed with heartbreaking lyrics accompanying the moment.

If you thought that the style moments were limited to the music video, consider again. Ahead of her Bud Light stage set this past weekend, Slayyyter teamed up with MAC Cosmetics to not just elevate her custom Dsquared2 tomboy fishing-inspired look, but become the brand's newest ambassador through the Kajal Excess Longwear Smokey Eye Liners campaign, which launched prior to the festival weekend.
“We wanted the makeup to bring a touch of glam and create a juxtaposition against the tomboy-inspired outfit," said MAC Senior Artist Anthony H. Nguyen. "We went for a soft, doe-eyed cut crease using the new Kajal Pencil, then finished the look with a wash of shimmer for the stage.”
Even though Slayyyter wore MAC to her sets at Coachella and Governors Ball, products such as the Extended Play Gigiblack Lash Mascara, Lustreglass Sheer-Shine Lipstick in Thanks, It's MAC!, and Smokey yet bright eyeshadows made the look all too perfect. From rocking a piece Shirley MacLaine wore in the 1966 film Gambit to a "ARE YOU THE WOR$T GIRL IN CHICAGO?" takeover at Ulta Beauty's Chicago Michigan Avenue location, Slayyyter and MAC are a match made in "CRANK" heaven.&nbsp;
As someone who has listened to the artist since her SoundCloud days, it makes me happy to see Slayyyter get the recognition she deserves. As she is in the midst of the "WOR$T GIRL IN THE WORLD TOUR," we can only expect the artist's one-of-a-kind, yet bold aesthetics to be elevated through her fashion in the coming months.
