This year, Worthington-Cox charmed TIFF-goers with her starring role in thriller 'Gwen.' 

Eleanor Worthington-Cox may be young, but she&rsquo;s already experienced enough to carry an entire film with her talent.

As the titular character in director William McGregor&rsquo;s first feature Gwen, the now 17-year-old brings a mature, sensitive presence to a dread-filled thriller. The story takes place in 19th century Wales and follows Gwen while she, along with her younger sister and their ill mother, navigates a community suspicious of her family and an ominously encroaching darkness.&nbsp;

It&rsquo;s no surprise that the promising British actress was chosen for this role: Worthington-Cox already has a Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress (for her title role in Matilda the Musical) and a British Academy Television Award nomination (for her role in The Enfield Haunting). American audiences might recognize her as young Aurora in Maleficent (2014), opposite Angelina Jolie. Surely, in the next few years, we&rsquo;ll be seeing this powerhouse actress everywhere.&nbsp;
