Superman: Legacy will be directed by James Gunn, co-head of DC Studios and responsible for films like The Suicide Squad (2021) and The Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy. The film will focus on Clark Kent as a young reporter in Metropolis and his efforts to discover his true identity as both an alien superhero and a human being. Safran has <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-features/james-gunn-unveils-dc-slate-batman-superman-1235314176/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">clarified that the movie is not an origin story</a>, &ldquo;it focuses on Superman balancing his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing.&rdquo; Saffron added, &ldquo;He is the embodiment of truth, justice, and the American way,&rdquo; so the film will likely see those values come into conflict with the villains Superman encounters.&nbsp;
