David Corenswet was raised in Philadelphia, where his father worked as a stage actor and passed on a love for performance. He would spend his weekends and holidays acting in productions since he was nine years old.

His career in Hollywood crosses genre lines

Corenswet has starred in a lot of movies and TV shows since breaking out in Hollywood in 2018 in the political drama movie, Affairs of State. Since then, David Corenswet has proven his skills across genres.
He starred in movies and TV shows like the Netflix series <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/lucy-boynton-netflix-politician-interview" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Politician</a>, in 2018, which was nominated for two Golden Globe Awards. His role in another Netflix series from Ryan Murphy, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/sex-and-fashion-in-ryan-murphys-hollywood" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hollywood</a> (2020), solidified his skills in drama while his character in the A24 film, Pearl (2022), brought him squarely into horror.

David Corenswet will be the first Jewish Superman.

What has garnered a lot of attention since the announcement is that Corenswet's depiction of the Man of Steel will be the first Jewish Superman.
