<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/art/art-basel-miami-beach-events-2019">Art Basel Miami Beach</a> 2019 is the place to be this week, attracting a range of visitors from the fashion, art, and culture worlds to celebrate creative innovation, collaboration, and&mdash;let&#39;s be honest&mdash;an escape from the December chill that&#39;s taken over many other major cities. Before the art fair officially began, Kim Jones kicked off the festivities by staging his <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/men/dior-men-miami-pre-fall-2020-2019">Dior Men Fall 2020</a> show at the new Rubell Museum on Tuesday night, attracting the likes of Kim and Kourtney Kardashian and Luka Sabbat, as well as Adam Bartoshesky, who captured the moment exclusively for&nbsp;L&#39;Officiel USA and proved why Miami Art Week has become such an exciting time in the fashion and culture spheres.

You may know Bartoshesky by his Instagram alias, @captainbarto. The photographer and surfer&#39;s&nbsp;feed is chock-full of exotic locales, so it&#39;s no wonder he headed down to Miami for&nbsp;the Dior Men&rsquo;s show, which he captured on his handy Polaroid and 35mm cameras. After popping backstage to watch the show preparations unfold with creative and image director of <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/beauty/jorja-smith-dior-makeup-ambassador--2019">Dior Makeup</a> Peter Philips and Kristen Noel Crawley, Bartoshesky snapped the gorgeous vintage cars that were rolling&nbsp;up to the show venue&nbsp;with celebrities like Maluma in tow.

It was quite the epic night&mdash;complete with an Orville Peck performance and fireworks&mdash;not to mention the collaboration pieces that walked down Jones&rsquo; runway. &ldquo;It was special to see an icon within surf/skate culture like Shawn Stussy collaborate with a high fashion brand like Dior,&rdquo; Bartoshesky raved. For the life-long surfer, that was the cherry on top of a fun night. Thanks for shooting for L&rsquo;Officiel! Who did you most love seeing today at the Dior men&rsquo;s show?

Thank you for having me! I don&rsquo;t get very starstruck, but there was a moment during the show where I was looking down the runway and saw <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/kate-moss-cecilia-bonstrom-collaboration-2019">Kate Moss</a> and David Beckham sitting next to each other front row and I was pretty bewildered. Two icons right there.

What did you think of the collection and collaboration with Shawn Stussy? Did you ever wear Stussy growing up?

Absolutely amazing. Every detail of how the show was organized and presented, down to the actual pieces of the collection, was so well done. It was special to see an icon within surf/skate culture like Shawn Stussy collaborate with a high fashion brand like Dior. I have been surfing my whole life and it has been the most influential aspect of my life. It was cool to see a culture that I love be fused into the collection. I think it was my favorite collection I have ever seen from a <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/categories/fashion">fashion</a> house.

We love your Polaroids and that you have an Instagram devoted to your film shots. Why do you think analog photography is rising in popularity on Instagram?

I think that since everything is digital and instantaneous in the modern world, people really enjoy the simplicity and feeling created when you use a point-and-shoot film camera. You can focus more on living in the moment, with a couple of quick snaps here or there, and you receive your images back days, weeks, or months later instead of right away. I call my day-to-day film pictures forgotten frames because I literally forget the pictures I take and then I get them developed and it&rsquo;s a whole new surprise. I love the feeling.&nbsp;I&rsquo;m a super <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/2010s-fashion-moments-top-ten">nostalgic</a> person.

It&rsquo;s <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/art/art-basel-miami-beach-events-2019">Art Basel</a> this week in Miami.&nbsp;Are you going to the fair or going to special events?

I&rsquo;m not;&nbsp;I&rsquo;m bummed! I literally flew in for the show and flew back out in less than 24 hours. I did all that last year and had the best time seeing all of the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/categories/art">art</a> and doing all the events. I&rsquo;m focusing on some other projects at the moment, so I wanted to get back home, as hard as it is to leave sunny Miami.

When you&rsquo;re not shooting fashionable friends at a <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/save-the-date/christine-and-the-queens-dior-guggenheim-gala-2019">Dior</a> show, what do you like to train your lenses on?

I have a camera on me most times. and the times I don&rsquo;t, I always regret it. I fell in love with photography while traveling to surf. I saw all these amazing cultures and moments I had never seen before and I just wanted to capture it. Freeze those little moments that you may never witness again. Those are still the moments I mainly shoot:&nbsp;just life happening. I will also get these random ideas or find these great locations and that will spark my creativity for a more organized shoot. More and more, I am seeking out things to shoot with emotion, things personal to the subjects I&rsquo;m shooting. I have many ideas at the moment for shoots that hopefully, we will see roll out in the coming months.
