Alessandro Sartori takes the brand from the past to the future with his Fall/Winter 2026 men&#39;s collection. Special guests at the show presented during Milan Fashion Week included Mads Mikkelsen, James Norton, and Lee Byung-Hun, while Asian superstar William Chan walked the catwalk.

Under the Art Nouveau dome of Milan's Palazzo del Ghiaccio, Zegna staged an event beyond the average fashion show. At the center of the space, a display of wardrobes transformed into a figurative representation of the narrative for the Fall/Winter 2026 collection, which deals with themes of time, continuity, and responsibility. In Zegna's wardrobe, past, present, and future coexist&mdash;literally and metaphorically. There are the family's clothes, the textile excellence that has built the brand's reputation, and a very timely reflection on the meaning of dressing today.
"Clothes give you confidence," explains Ermenegildo Zegna, wearing a double-breasted coat from the 1930s inherited from his father. A simple, almost disarming phrase, which immediately clarifies the tone of the show: this isn't about nostalgia, but about trust. Trust in quality, in durability, in the value of what is passed down.
The first models paraded in dressing gowns, a gesture that shifted the conversation from formal to personal. It's no coincidence that the theme ties directly to the Villa Zegna project, designed for clients who favor bespoke tailoring and a deeper connection with the product.
"I feel like the guardian of the Zegna family wardrobe," Alessandro Sartori began at the collection preview. A statement that clearly defines his role, more curatorial than self-referential.
"The point is to buy and build a wardrobe in order to pass on values. Our clients don't use garments and throw them away, but collect them like watches, jewelry, and objects." This statement conveys a clear stance against the disposable nature of contemporary fashion, and an alternative proposal that looks to the culture of collecting, also dear to a certain audience described by the Wall Street Journal: sophisticated, informed consumers interested in permanence rather than novelty.
The collection reimagines timeless classics of the men's wardrobe: from loden to double-breasted jackets, from blazers to overcoats.
"We've reimagined timeless classics crafted with high quality to create timeless classics," explains Sartori.
The colors&mdash;stone, chestnut, olive, with accents of terracotta, honey, and matte black&mdash;reinforce the idea of a natural palette, far removed from any decorative temptation.
Formally, slightly elongated jackets feature stand-up collars and structured shoulders. Trousers remain soft, embracing the body's movement. Suede or wool felt loafers complement the idea of sophisticated comfort. Leather is also featured, used for functional jackets, as are stripes and windowpane patterns with a macro effect, updating sartorial codes without distorting them. A patented innovation is the double-breasted jacket with three horizontal buttons, designed to adapt to the wearer's style and needs, and the Trofeo tricotine coats, so named because they celebrate the trophy historically awarded to goat farmers, a detail that draws attention to the supply chain and the relationship with the raw material.
On the textile front, Zegna continues to experiment discreetly. The "paper" cashmere wool, a blend of wool yarns and paper fibers, is an example of research applied to comfort and lightness. Denim takes on a tailored look, with relaxed nappa leather pockets and jackets, demonstrating how even the most casual materials can be elevated without sacrificing naturalness. A collection that doesn't need to be grasped at a glance, but rather experienced over time. Like a family wardrobe, it opens and expands season after season, passing on the values of each individual.
