The action was announced by Cher on her <a href="https://twitter.com/cher/status/1504654751702548482" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Twitter</a>. "I Would Like to Sponsor Ukrainian Families in My Home.They Would Be Safe &amp; Cared For," she declared.
The 75-year-old <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/young-cher-fashion-moments-70s">pop diva</a> has several properties in the United States, but usually spends most of her time in her mansion in <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/editorial-malibu-glamping">Malibu</a>, California. The singer also called on other people who have the means to adopt welcoming attitudes toward refugees. "MANY PEOPLE IN MY POSITION NEED TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE.IF I WAS ALONE OR WITH MY CHILDREN,&amp; WE WERE TRAUMATIZED,I WOULD HOPE SOMEONE LIKE ME TO TAKE CARE OF US," she said.
It's estimated that more than two million people have already left Ukraine since the start of the invasion in late February.

 Actor and former governor of California <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/politics-culture/celebrities-in-politics-caitlyn-jenner-kanye-west-cynthia-nixon">Arnold Schwarzenegger</a> also used his influence to send a message to Russian citizens. &ldquo;I am speaking to you today because there are things that are happening in the world that have been hidden from you, terrible things that you should know. Let me tell you the truth about the war in Ukraine," he said.
 The actor continued, &ldquo;The destruction of Russian bombs raining down on innocent civilians has outraged the world so much that the strongest global economic sanctions ever taken have been imposed on your country&hellip; This is not the war to defend Russia like the one your grandparents or great-grandparents fought in. This is an illegal war."
