As summer approaches, so too does the most coveted theatre event of the season: The 2026Tony Awards.

It's Tony nomination day! The countdown for the 79th annual Tony Awards has officially begun, with actors of stage and screen, Uzo Aduba and Darren Criss, announcing the nominations on May 5. The honors, presented by the Broadway League and the American Theater Wing, celebrate the creme de la creme of the season&rsquo;s stage productions&mdash;and this year's slate caught some fans by surprise. While many contenders got their flowers, including Nathan Lane in Death of a Salesman, there were some surprising snubs, including best actress contenders Lea Michele for Chess and Ayo Edebiri for the revival of Proof. The slate proves surprising as well, with Scott Rudin making a comeback with two nominations under his belt&mdash;Death of A Salesman and Little Bear Ridge Road. Other successes include The Lost Boys and Schmigadoon!, which are both leading in nominations. Regardless, this year's slate promises an exciting mix of successful revivals and thought-provoking original work.&nbsp;
Taking place on June 7 at Radio City Music Hall, the ceremony will be hosted by rock star P!nk. A triple threat and theatre lover, there's no doubt that P!nk's presence and unparalleled performance skills alongside this exciting slate will make for a very memorable broadcast.
