Caitlin Covington, known as the face of Christian Girl Autumn, sent her fans into a frenzy this week after posting a tearful TikTok announcing she was taking a break from her beloved fall content.

Since 2019, autumn has been defined by oversized <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/shopping/fall-winter-scarves-trend-prada-loewe-marni" target="_blank" rel="noopener">scarves</a>, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/shopping/best-riding-boots-to-buy-shopping" target="_blank" rel="noopener">knee-high boots</a>, and pumpkin spice lattes&mdash;plus Caitlin Covington. The 34-year-old influencer rose to viral fame six years ago after the X (formerly Twitter) account Blizzy McGuire posted a photo of her and a friend in fall foliage with the caption: &ldquo;Hot Girl Summer is coming to an end, get ready for Christian Girl Autumn,&rdquo; as explained by <a href="https://people.com/caitlin-covington-christian-girl-autumn-fall-trips-all-about-exclusive-8709842" target="_blank" rel="noopener">People</a>.
She&rsquo;s embraced the title ever since, filling her Instagram feed with pumpkin patches, chunky sweaters, and crisp <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/travel-living/million-dollar-connecticut-castle-bridgerton-netflix-tv-show" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New England</a> backdrops for her 1 million followers&mdash;she even takes yearly trips to Vermont to catch peak fall foliage for social media content.&nbsp;
Ahead of the official start of fall, Covington dropped a bombshell on Aug. 20. In tears, she broke the news on her <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@cmcoving/video/7540401437583428894">TikTok</a>: &ldquo;This is my fourth time recording, and I just don&rsquo;t know how I&rsquo;m going to tell you guys that I&rsquo;m not going to be able to post fall videos this year. It&rsquo;s just a lot of pressure to make each video better than the last &mdash; to make each fall better. And I just really need a break this year.&rdquo;

Covington has admitted before that the seasonal spotlight can be overwhelming. She spends months in advance planning trips, scouting photo spots, and putting together outfits to keep her fall content fresh.
For many, the news felt like the cancellation of fall itself. Covington has become the internet&rsquo;s go-to muse for autumn outfits, cozy activities, and the season&rsquo;s first PSL sighting.

As it turns out, Ms. Autumn was lying. Not even a day after her weepy viral TikTok, Covington posted another video of herself&mdash;this time, no tears in sight as she joyfully tossed leaves in the air with text on the video that read, &ldquo;Plot twist: I would NEVER cancel fall.&rdquo;
She captioned the post: &ldquo;Thank you for all your support, I was truly not expecting that response&mdash;your kindness honestly blew me away. Love y&rsquo;all. P.S. Consider this the official fall launch.&rdquo;

Covington also made it clear that &ldquo;Christian Girl Autumn&rdquo; is about more than scarves and pumpkin patches. She&rsquo;s spoken openly about her faith, her politics, and her support for <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/5-famous-lgbtq-music-artists-elton-john-freddie-mercury" target="_blank" rel="noopener">LGBTQ+ rights</a>. In 2020, when the trans woman who coined the meme launched a GoFundMe for her transition, Covington donated $500 and promoted the fundraiser to her followers. &ldquo;Christians can get a bad rap,&rdquo; she told People, &ldquo;but I want my followers to know I&rsquo;m very accepting of everyone and have a very open mind.&rdquo;
In other words, our fall is safe. The queen has spoken, and her reign continues, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/beauty/fall-color-nail-polish-2025-cinnamon-brown-copper-latte-burgundy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pumpkin spice latte</a> in hand.
