Coming off a stellar Lollapalooza performance, the South Korean singer is ready to branch out.

In recent memory, how one launches into individual stardom after being in a K-Pop group has drastically shifted. From BIGBANG's Taeyang and G-Dragon to all seven members of BTS, this phenomenon has truly become the industry standard for your favorite idols embarking on solo careers.&nbsp;
But if there was an artist who has easily taken their career to never-before-seen heights, it'd be Jennie.
The South Korean talent not only has been a part of the iconic girl group Blackpink since 2016, but has made herself known through her independent discography. Breaking multiple records, selling a million copies of her debut studio album Ruby worldwide, and fresh off becoming the first Korean female solo artist to headline Chicago's Lollapalooza are just some accomplishments under her eight-year career.
Even with stellar moments like these, Jennie wants to keep the ball rolling. Yes, music is still important for the artist. However, after getting a taste of acting in her debut as Jennie Ruby Jane in "The Idol," she wants to continue in the Film &amp; TV industry.
Let's just say we are here to see more Jennie on the silver screen.

In an interview with <a href="https://www.cosmopolitan.com/entertainment/celebs/a73230117/jennie-interview-2026/">Cosmopolitan</a>, the artist reflected on how she used her "survival instinct" to get through uncomfortable situations. Even though Jennie didn't have any icons she looked up to when she was younger, she mentioned that Rihanna is a North Star at this point in her career before reminding the public that she's available for more acting gigs.
"I'm bilingual, and to act in my second language does teach you a lot of things," Jennie told writer <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/music/travis-scott-interview-the-odyssey-movie-role-cast-new-music-cactus-jack-nike-shoes">Brittany Spanos</a>. "If anyone is looking for this, I'm here."
Although critics weren't fans of the Weeknd's HBO show, Jennie's performance as Dyanne, backup dancer and close friend of pop star Jocelyn (played by Lily Rose-Depp), was widely praised by fans and reviewers alike. In fact, a clip of the artist nailing some choreography gained more views than The Idol's premiere.
In fact, The New York Times said that Jennie was "the only reason to watch" the show before its cancellation in August 2023. Whether it be a K-Drama that reaches a global audience, a supporting character on a dance-forward TV show, or even a drama film that carries star power, Jennie is more than prepared to take on the film space (after she takes the time to relax and see where the wind takes her).
As the artist said, "It's very special, the unknowingness."
