Either way, the situation is incredibly sad in itself, and could be a signal for the fate of late-night talk shows moving forward.&nbsp;
Colbert announced the news to a distraught audience of booers on Thursday night, to which he responded simply by saying, "Yeah, I share your feelings." The <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DMOhWKsxT_G/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">clip</a> of the announcement was shared on Instagram, in which various celebrities from <a href="https://preview.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/rachel-zegler-gal-gadot-snow-white-feud" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rachel Zegler</a> to Kristin Chenoweth lamented the news in the comments section. The talk show host made sure to express his gratitude and the next 10 months of fun he looks forward to as he finishes out his 11-year run with CBS.
Colbert has not only entertained millions with his wit and conversational abilities, but he has also remained a staunch opponent to the Trump administration, who has never been afraid to call politicians and public figures out. Senator Elizabeth Warren, who has joined Colbert on The Late Show on multiple occasions, shared her anger on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DMOqaXAM0AY/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">social media</a>, writing, "America deserves to know if his show was cancelled for political reasons."
