Romy Coppola Croquet is the internet's newest favorite <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/nepo-baby-celebrity-response-nepotism" target="_blank" rel="noopener">nepotism baby</a>. She reached instant virality after posting a <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/modern-fashion-etiquette-rules-style-guidelines" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TikTok</a> explaining that she was grounded for trying to charter a helicopter with her dad's credit card in order to visit a camp friend. Though many viewers believed the young girl to be out of touch, others quickly found this post extremely comical. In the since-deleted video, she explains that she isn't allowed to have public <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/tiktok-stylists-addison-rae-charli-damelio-fashion" target="_blank" rel="noopener">social media</a> accounts because her parents fear her being labeled as a "nepotism kid."
Daughter of film director <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/the-chanel-iconic-campaign-sofia-coppola" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sofia Coppola</a> and <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/music/phoenix-french-indie-pop-band-comeback" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Phoenix</a> lead-singer Thomas Mars, Romy Croquet was born in 2006. Her mother is a nepotism baby herself, making Croquet a nepotism grandbaby. Daughter of Francis Ford Coppola, Sofia is known for her films The Virgin Suicides, Lost in Translation, and <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/sofia-coppola-marie-antoinette-party" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Marie Antoinette</a>. She is the daughter of Sofia Coppola and Thomas Mars.

Filmmaker Sofia Coppola and <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/music/pop-punk-resurgence-music-fashion-tiktok" target="_blank" rel="noopener">musician</a> Thomas Mars met in 1999 when Mars asked Coppola for a song feature in her film The Virgin Suicides. In 1999, Coppola married film director Spike Jonze. After their divorce in 2003, Sofia Coppola dated <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/uma-thurman-best-movies-pulp-fiction" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Quentin Tarantino</a> until 2005. Thomas Mars and Coppola began dating and welcomed their daughter Romy in 2006. Romy's younger sister, Cosima, was born in 2010, and the couple got <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/celebrity-weddings-married-2022-bennifer-kourtney-kardashian" target="_blank" rel="noopener">married</a> shortly after in 2011.&nbsp;&nbsp;

She was named after her uncle, Roman Coppola.&nbsp;

Romy is named after the&nbsp;Moonrise Kingdom screenwriter.&nbsp;

She made her modeling debut with Marc Jacobs.&nbsp;

In 2020, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/marc-jacobs-heaven-cultural-zeitgeist-fashion-collections-trends" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Marc Jacobs</a> posted gorgeous photos of the then-13-year-old on Instagram. The designer revealed that Romy is "such a cool and beautiful young woman," perfectly fitting with the spirit of Marc Jacob's Heaven collection.&nbsp;

Her parents don't want her to be a "nepotism baby."&nbsp;

In the now-deleted TikTok, Romy told her viewers that her parents do not allow her to have public social media profiles out of fear that she will be branded a "nepotism baby." After quickly gaining virality in her videos, Mars deleted her TikTok account.&nbsp;
