Kaia Gerber has walked so many shows that it's hard to believe she only just turned 18. The young model first made headlines for her resemblance to her mom Cindy Crawford and has since made a name for herself working with the likes of Chanel, Valentino, Prada, Miu Miu and Alexander Wang. In a perfect alignment, her birthday (September 3) fell just before New York Fashion Week, so on Friday night, she got the opportunity to prove her ability to throw a good party.
At Paradise Club inside New York's Times Square Edition, Gerber rang in her coming of age aside a host of elite guests that seemed to exhibit a who's-who of fashion and entertainment. The model marked her milestone alongside her family (Crawford, dad Rande, and brother Presley) and many high-profile friends including Kendall Jenner, Leonardo DiCaprio, Camila Morrone, Alexander Wang, Lourdes Leon, Brooklyn Beckham, G-Eazy, and Youngblood. Nightlife queen Susanne Bartsch performed at the event, and entertainer Amanda Lepore serenaded Gerber in a moment that went viral on Instagram.
For the occasion, Gerber chose an appropriately bold look: an Atelier Versace set comprising a slit leather skirt and a corselet with bondage-style straps that hugged her chest, torso, and neck, where she also wore a choker. The supermodel completed the ensemble with a maison belt, gold earrings, a black clutch to match her knee-high boots. Her beauty look comprised a defined cat eye, nude lipstick, and a voluminous version of her Guido Palau "drama cut" that she debuted earlier this summer.
The most remarkable part of Gerber's look? It closely resembles one Crawford wore at an MTV awards show in 1992. The only difference is that the '90s supermodel chose to wear the corset with a long skirt rather than the mini length her daughter rocked at Friday's soirée.
