CoverGirl Brings Diversity to the Drugstore

Faced with socially conscious consumers, cosmetics brands are quickly changing their business models.

Since the launch of Fenty Beauty, cosmetics brands no longer have an excuse for not producing racially inclusive products. While some brands still haven’t caught on, others like CoverGirl are responding to customers who are fed up with being sold makeup made only for light-skinned communities.

Dubbed the Full Spectrum, the collection contains 20 shades of liquid foundation, powder foundation, concealer, primers, eyeshadows, eyeliners, lipsticks, and palettes made with darker skin tones in mind. While it’s important to note that CoverGirl has a track record of delivering products with all racial backgrounds in mind, this move marks a much bigger step towards a more inclusive lineup.
