Kanye West Dropped A New Track This Weekend

And it’s as delightfully controversial as you might expect.

You gotta give it up to him: despite retaining a somewhat constant presence in today’s headlines, rapper and designer Kanye West still manages to surprise everyone over and over again. Yesterday morning was no different when DJ Clark Kent released their new collaborative track entitled "XTCY."

Notwithstanding the incredibly catchy bit and beat that are to be expected from Kanye, the song is interesting for several reasons. Firstly, let us note the following line: “You got sick thoughts? / I got more of ‘em / You got a sister-in-law you would smash? / I got four of them.” Secondly, XTCY was scheduled to be released the morning after Kylie Jenner’s 21st birthday party. Third, the cover photo for the track features none other than the Kardashian-Jenners themselves – middle fingers poised at the ready. Interesting. "XTCY" also comes a day after Kanye’s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he explained his porn preferences while noting that PornHub granted him a lifetime premium subscription.

While we think it’s sometimes best to refrain from trying to understand Kanye West’s logic, there is no doubt that he is a talented artist who manages to surprise us—something that is hard to do in the 21st century.
