Fresh sincerity

At the time of our interview, Billie, 17, will announce in a few days the release of her debut album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? She has made millions of fans with a handful of singles, and an EP, Do not Smile At Me. Having amassed such a follow-up, and played complete concerts around the world even before having released a album, is not given to everyone. What effect does it have?
