Gucci and Artsy Have Released a Project on Gender Equality in the Art World

In the history of art, only 5% were women — and their names are worth remembering.

Gucci and reprint buying service Artsy just launched a project both important and necessary, called Artists For Gender Equality. It will be divided into three parts: "Past", "Present" and "Future". On their way are three videos in which representatives of different generations, professions and trends in art will be interviewed. For now, only one is available on Artsy's site, featuring sculptor Barbara Zucker, artists Feith Ringgold and Joanne Semmel and art consultant Todd Levin. They talk about the stereotypes and gender barriers that they encountered at the beginning of their creative path. You can check it out below:
