While astrology and the fate of the stars have held us captive in recent years, belief in superstitions, myths, and elements beyond our control stretches deep into fashion's past. Here are fashion's greatest superstitions.

Christian Dior

<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/dior-chez-moi-capsule-quarantine">Christion Dior</a>&#39;s mystical and <a href="https://wwws.dior.com/couture/en_hk/the-house-of-dior/the-story-of-dior/believing-in-ones-destiny">superstitious tendencies</a> were <a href="https://www.astrotheme.com/astrology/Christian_Dior">well documented</a> throughout his life and remain <a href="https://www.dior.com/en_us/products/couture-M1286ZWBR_M941-dior-book-tote-latte-multicolor-dior-zodiac-embroidery">codes of his fashion house</a> to this day. In his days, everywhere the designer went, he would ask his fortuneteller to follow&mdash;much depended&nbsp;on him. In fact, the one rare occasion that Dior didn&#39;t take his advice (a vacation trip to Italy), ended fatally. Dior was also in awe of the magic of numbers, and for him the important numbers were: 13 and 8. Thus, thirteen models also were cast in his shows, and his fashion brand was officially created on October 8, 1946.

Yves Saint Laurent

<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/saint-laurent-summer-2021-anthony-vaccarello">Yves Saint Laurent</a>&nbsp;reportedly believed in the magical properties of his bulldogs,&nbsp;which he famously owned four of&mdash;though&nbsp;<a href="https://www.theguardian.com/theobserver/2000/feb/13/life1.lifemagazine1">Moujik</a> was perhaps his most famous. Saint Laurent was convinced that if one of his dogs sat on any outfit from a new collection it would become a bestseller.&nbsp;

Before each of her fashion shows, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/diane-von-furstenberg-x-ashley-longshore">Diane Von Furstenberg</a>&nbsp;apparently puts a talisman coin in her shoe, which her father once did in a boot while fighting in the army.

In images of the fixture&nbsp;now one&nbsp;can still see the letter &quot;G&quot; for Gabrielle, the double &quot;C,&quot;&nbsp;the brand sign and, of course, the number 5.

The former&nbsp;Burberry hed&nbsp;follows the number 17, and&nbsp;carries a tarot card with the name &ldquo;star,&rdquo;&nbsp;which promises success and prosperity. The archetypes&nbsp;were most reflected in&nbsp;his activities at Givenchy, where he&nbsp;released T-shirts with the number, released drops on the 17th, and staged runway shows at 17:00.
